ELLEPHANT presents new work by Stanley Wany and Ekow Nimako at 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair London.

Stanley Wany premieres two large-scale mixed-media drawings made with coffee, charcoal, and cotton on Canvas. The works draw on the historical and symbolic weight carried by these substances, combined with subject matter rooted in African and diasporic histories. Through gesture, erasure, and repetition, the images propose an experience of time that is cyclical rather than linear.

Ekow Nimako premieres a new large-scale freestanding figurative sculpture alongside four masks, all constructed exclusively from black LEGO®. Drawing from West African cultural narratives, science fiction, and interstellar imagery, Nimako transforms the familiar modular language of LEGO® into complex sculptural forms.

Presented together, Wany and Nimako offer contrasting yet complementary approaches to the ways history can be revisited and reimagined.
