At ELLEPHANT, we curate encounters with digital, video, installation, kinetic, robotic, DIY, VR, AR, AI, immersive and interactive art forms.
ELLEPHANT is located on Peace Park, in the heart of Montreal’s former red-light district, in Montreal’s celebrated cultural sector, the Quartier des spectacles.
ELLEPHANT never closes, with solo and group exhibitions showcasing the most innovative contemporary art from here, visible 24/7, via the gallery’s street level windows. There is also a curated selection of International VR Art always available to be experienced in the gallery.
Every night, a parallel program of video art can be viewed on the MicroTile display in ELLEPHANT’s Charlotte St. window, a co-production of ELLEPHANT and Ed Video Media Art Centre.
At ELLEPHANT, we support and advocate for the acquisition and exhibition of new and innovative postdigital art. Our gallery artists can be found in the collections of the National Gallery of Canada, Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal, Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec, Hydro-Québec, Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, National Bank of Canada, Munich Re, Global Affairs, the Indigenous Art Centre and other institutions internationally.
ELLEPHANT is a member of the Partenariat du Quartier des spectacles and the Association of Contemporary Art Galleries (AGAC).
