At ELLEPHANT, we curate encounters with analog, digital, video, installation, kinetic, robotic, DIY, VR, AR, AI, textiles, immersive and interactive art forms.
At ELLEPHANT, we support and advocate for the acquisition of postdigital, gender-inclusive, postcolonial, feminist art. Work by our artists are in the collections of the National Gallery of Canada, Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal, Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec, Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, Indigenous Art Centre, Ville de Montréal, Hydro-Québec, Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, National Bank of Canada, Equitable Bank, Munich Re, Global Affairs, The Carl & Marilynn Thoma Art Foundation and the Eiteljorg Museum, amongst others.
Located on Peace Park, in the heart of Montreal’s former red-light district, ELLEPHANT is part of Montreal’s celebrated cultural sector, the Quartier des spectacles. Solo and group exhibitions showcasing the most innovative contemporary art from here are visible 24/7, via the gallery’s street level windows. There is also a curated selection of Virtual Reality / Augmented Reality art to be experienced in the gallery.
ELLEPHANT is a member of the Partenariat du Quartier des spectacles and the Association of Contemporary Art Galleries.
