Métroscopies is a videographic exploration of the Montreal Metro within the context of the Covid pandemic. The videos capture spontaneous moments enabled by the discreet use of a smartphone and the anonymity provided by mandatory masks. Through the interplay of parallaxes, fragmented into a kind of cubist checkerboard, the narrative navigates seamlessly from tunnel to station, from familiar locales to the realms of visual art, all in the pursuit of serendipitous encounters. Along an unexpected trajectory, we observe the whirlwind of this chronicle of moments, characterized by Brutalist accents and epochal colours, featuring spaces that have indelibly shaped our imaginations and continue to punctuate our daily lives.
