Côte cour
Nathalie Bujold

The second iteration of ELLEPHANT's 2026 summer vitrine presents Nathalie Bujold's Cote cour (2018), one of eleven videos in her series « Motifs de L’Embarras: 11 videographic quilts », created in collaboration with the Societé de plantes in Kamouraska, and produced during artist residencies at the Maison de la Culture Marie-Uguay and La Bande Vidéo.
In Cóte cour, the geometry of buildings and garden planks of the Societé de plantes are fragmented and reassembled in a quilt-like style creating a hypnotic and dynamic composition. Everything there is in motion: the camera, the lights, and the subjects. A signature of Bujold's moving tableaux, within which each element of the landscape is embraced and absorbed into a lively "natureculture" textile.
For the best viewing experience, visit our vitrine after dusk or at dawn.
