Côte cour

ELLEPHANT presents Nathalie Bujold’s Côté cour (2023), from her series Motifs de l’Embarras: 11 videographic quilts. The series was created in collaboration with the Société des plantes in Kamouraska and produced during artist residencies at the Maison de la culture Marie-Uguay and La Bande Vidéo.

In Côté cour, the geometry of the buildings and gardens at the Société des plantes is fragmented and reassembled into a video quilt, creating a hypnotic and dynamic composition. Everything is in motion: the camera, the light, and the subjects. This is a signature of Bujold’s moving tableaux, in which each element of the landscape is woven into a “natureculture” video textile.
