Elisabeth Picard

Elisabeth Picard

Hylozoïsme - Solo Exhibition

April 28 to May 29, 2021

The common thread of Elisabeth Picard’s Hylozoism series is the contemplation of both lines and knots unfolding in space. Fascinated by the processes of growth and transformation found in the living world, Elisabeth Picard focuses on two types of creation in this series: fixed sculptural compositions in space and kinetic compositions with movement generated by motors. She ingeniously exploits techniques used to fabricate textiles, basketry, knots and dyeing processes, to create her unique world out of various materials including zip-ties, rope, and bronze.
